Cuba
A vibrant blend of timeless charm, rhythm, and Caribbean warmth

CUBA - Colour, culture and Caribbean charm
Cuba is a destination unlike any other—where vibrant city streets meet powder-soft beaches, vintage cars cruise by colourful colonial buildings, and music flows through every corner of daily life. It’s a country rich in culture, history and natural beauty, offering a truly unique Caribbean escape with a luxury twist.
I’ve been lucky enough to experience Cuba first-hand, travelling with my 1-year-old son and my extended family. We stayed in Varadero, enjoying its world-class beaches, and explored Havana, soaking up its iconic architecture, history and electric atmosphere. We visited a traditional sugar cane factory and enjoyed the charming train ride through rural landscapes, took a luxury catamaran excursion from Varadero, admired the famous Che Guevara artwork, and even stopped for a classic cocktail at El Floridita—Havana’s legendary bar made famous by Ernest Hemingway.

Top Attraction: Havana’s Old Town (Habana Vieja)
A UNESCO World Heritage site, Havana’s Old Town is the beating heart of Cuba’s culture and history. Wander its cobbled streets lined with pastel-coloured buildings, vintage cars and lively cafés. From Plaza Vieja to the Capitolio, every corner tells a story. No visit is complete without sipping a daiquiri at El Floridita, just as I did—an unforgettable taste of Havana’s timeless charm.
Must See & Do: Catamaran Cruise From Varadero
For a luxurious Caribbean experience, a catamaran trip from Varadero is a must. Glide across crystal-clear turquoise waters, enjoy snorkelling stops, and relax on pristine beaches that feel a world away from the everyday. It’s the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure—and ideal for families, couples, or anyone wanting to see Cuba from a new perspective.
Traveller Tip
Cuba is best enjoyed by embracing its relaxed pace and authentic experiences. Wi-Fi can be limited, so think of this as a chance to truly unplug and immerse yourself in the culture. Don’t miss the opportunity to travel beyond your resort—excursions to sugar cane plantations, local villages and Havana provide a deeper, richer understanding of the country. And if you’re travelling with little ones, like I did with my son, you’ll find Cubans incredibly warm and welcoming to families.
