Morocco - A luxury escape filled with colour, culture and calm

Morocco is a destination that captures your heart the moment you arrive. From its sandstone palaces to its vibrant souks and serene wellness retreats, the country blends rich tradition with effortless luxury. My own stay in Marrakech was the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure—an escape defined by sunshine, culture and unforgettable hospitality.

Top Attraction – The Souks of Marrakech

Exploring the Marrakech souks was a highlight of the trip. Wandering through the winding lanes, we chatted with friendly local artisans, admired their craftsmanship and picked up some beautiful treasures—from handcrafted bags to sparkling jewellery. Every purchase felt meaningful, a small piece of Morocco’s creative spirit coming home with us.

Must See & Do – Wellness & Architecture in the Red City

I stayed in a wellness-focused hotel, and it completely elevated the experience. The architecture was simply stunning—ornate arches, calming courtyards and soft warm tones that made the whole place feel like a sanctuary. The service was exceptional too, making our girls’ trip feel effortlessly luxurious. After days of sunshine and exploring, relaxing by the pool or enjoying the spa was pure bliss.

For those looking to explore more of Marrakech, the city offers unforgettable excursions: quad biking through rugged landscapes, guided walks around cultural sights, and visits to historic palaces and gardens that bring Morocco’s rich history to life.

Traveller Tip

If you’re visiting in May, be ready for the heat—temperatures during my stay reached around 38°C. Plan outdoor adventures for early morning or late afternoon and use the warmest part of the day to unwind at your hotel. Light clothing, water, and sunscreen are essentials… along with plenty of room in your suitcase for all the amazing things you’ll want to bring home!
